Through a collaborative funding effort with Virginia Tourism Corporation, Lynchburg Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau, the City of Lynchburg, and donated time and materials by local artist Paul Clements, the James River Council for the Arts & Humanities erected this LOVEworks Public Art piece at the trailhead of Percival’s Island, a portion of the James River Heritage Trail System that brings many visitors to the area to experience nature up close. The LOVE sculpture is located along the Percival’s Island Trail downtown, between the parking lot and the pedestrian bridge. You can get a good view of it driving down Washington Street. Organizers encourage visitors to take photos with the sculpture and share them to social media, using the hashtags #loveva, #LynchburgVA, #downtownlynchburg or #jamesriverarts.
