Completed late summer 2020, this artful newcomer is minutes from Downtown. This beautiful mural, “Make Waves”, was painted on the sheet metal wall of the Craft Crucible building in Midtown. Artist Christina Davis painted it in four days of practically nonstop work. Davis painted the mural as a way to “start the conversation” – “I’ve never found a Black girl on a wall before,” she says. She based the mural on the Black Girl Magic movement, celebrating the beauty, strength and resilience of Black women.
