Winter is here, and along with the cold and some occasional dreary weather, it can feel almost impossible to get out and about. We’re here to tell you that it’s time to bundle up and take a step outside, you won’t want to miss out on these winter activities in Lynchburg, VA.

Hit the Slopes at Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre

Take yourself outside this winter and do some skiing, snowboarding, or tubing down Liberty’s Snowflex Centre. Snowflex doesn’t need any snow for its year-round slopes. After your downhill descent, grab a bite to eat at Macado’s, Shakers, or pop by River Ridge Mall to dine at one of the many restaurants like Papa Gallo and Iron & Ale Bistro. 

Grab a Hot Drink and Walk the Trails

Bundle up, grab a few friends, and head to Black Water Creek Trail for a winter walk! This flat trail is surrounded by woods and is the perfect place to go for a little walk-and-talk escape. Ice Skate at LaHaye Ice Center

Take some time to see a little piece of history in Lynchburg at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest. Poplar Forest is the perfect attraction for every season. Tour the house and grounds, walk the new gravel trails, and stop by the gift shop to pick up a little memento of a great visit. Winter activities wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the movies. Lynchburg has two options where you can catch the newest film on the big screen. Regal Cinemas at River Ridge Mall is the perfect place to watch the newest movie, and shop around or grab a bite to eat all under the same roof. Venue Cinemas is a great low-cost alternative showing movies that have already circulated around the big theaters.
